The Sketching Room

From Melbourne Australia…

Peter Carr was born playing the drums and quickly expanded his musical skills by teaching himself guitar and keys.

While bashing the skins for the Melbourne band, Fools and Angels, Pete decided to stray from his kit. He strapped on an acoustic guitar and a keyboard and started banging heads with Fools and Angels bassist and lead vocalist (and also his brother in law), Byron Coleman.

After discovering that what they were making was called “music” they decided to give their “music” a name. And so was born “The Sketching Room”.

The duo are influenced by artists such as Ben Folds, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab For Cutie and The Beatles, just to name a few.

The Sketching Room’s tunes can be described as simple, emotive songs based on catchy melodies.
